Proteomic Core Facilities

Mass Spectrometry Consortium for the Life Sciences (MSCLS)

The Mass Spectrometry Consortium for the Life Sciences and Protein Analysis Facility provides support, equipment, and expertise for analyzing complex protein mixtures. Electrospray and Maldi mass spectrometers are capable of determining the molecular weight of intact proteins and can identify proteins using protein fingerprints or peptide sequencing via MS/MS. Additional mass spectrometers provide for the identification of other organic molecules and protein quantification via ICAT.

Proteome Analysis Core Facility

The PAF has equipment to help with separation and differential expression between two samples. The facility has capability of traditional 2D SDS-PAGE, DIGE, Proteosep (2D liquid chromatofocusing) and high throughput spot picking, digestion, and ziptipping.
